How to Help Your Loved One with Alzheimer’s

  • Help with household tasks and meals.
  • Provide emotional support by being available and accompanying them appointments or support groups.
  • Establish a routine for doing daily tasks, such as taking medication. [Read more…]

  • Reassure older loved ones that a move can be a gradual process.
  • Make the focus of the conversation for “future planning,” not immediate action
  • Recognize that no one wants to give up her or his independence
  • Try to find common ground through “what if” scenarios [Read more…]
