Finding a Fort Worth Memory Care Facility

It’s a difficult statistic to face — by the time a person is 85 years of age, the odds of developing dementia are about one in two. If you’re already facing this reality, you know how hard it can be when you realize your aging loved one needs specialized care.

Dementia is a symptom of brain disease, such as Alzheimer’s Disease. While there are treatments to help the symptoms of dementia somewhat, there is no cure. Researchers also don’t have a clear answer on causes of dementia. For a family with a parent of other loved one with the disease, it’s a difficult diagnosis to face. Latest Treatments in Grapevine Alzheimer’s Care

The goal of any recovery is of course to get the patient back to how they felt before the surgery, or even better in some cases. After surgery and discharge from the hospital, the biggest concerns affecting full recovery include:

  • Proper wound care to decrease the risk of infection.
  • Adherence to medication schedules.
  • Activity levels as recommended by the medical team.
  • Travel arrangement for follow-up appointment.
  • Proper diet and exercise to promote healing.
  • Adequate mobility function to reduce risk of falls or other complications.

Frisco Assisted Living

The options for senior assisted living in Frisco are changing every day as more demand increases competition for facilities. Here are a few trends seen in assisted living in the assisted living communities that improve the quality of life for seniors.

Focus on wellness. The seniors of today and tomorrow are living longer, more active lives than ever before. To help residents live life to the fullest, many assisted living facilities are implementing wellness programs. This includes fitness activities and specialized dining options, such as organic recipes and gluten free choices.

Lifelong learning. You never outgrow the love of learning. That’s why assisted living facilities are providing opportunities for residents to continue their education during their retirements. Many facilities offer workshops and access to virtual classes as well. [Read more…]
