Advice for Finding Dallas Senior Care Facility

Just like any challenge in life, the best advice often comes from people who have walked in your shoes. Helping a loved one find the right Dallas senior care facility can be difficult, both logistically and emotionally. Here’s some advice from people who know what you’re going through:

  • If you’re looking for senior care for a loved one, recognize that giving up independence is difficult for most everyone. Be empathetic and patient.

  • As a caregiver, find a balance that allows you to keep up with your own life as well as your loved ones.

  • Reassure older loved ones that a move can be a gradual process.
  • Make the focus of the conversation for “future planning,” not immediate action
  • Recognize that no one wants to give up her or his independence
  • Try to find common ground through “what if” scenarios [Read more…]
