The Benefits of a Residential Care Home

Residential Care Homes are a great option for many families looking for that more personal touch of care. There are many great assisted living homes in Dallas & Fort Worth. Residential Care Homes can also be called adult family homes, personal care homes or group homes. Residential Care Homes provide care for seniors in a home in residential neighborhoods. A Residential Care Home could be located in your neighborhood and you may not even know about it.

Assisted Living Homes in Dallas and the Fort Worth area are great alternatives for individuals who do not want to live in a larger community. Also, residential care homes can be a great option for those that require a higher level of care. The staff in a residential care homes assist with medications, help residents bathe, get dressed and perform many other daily tasks or activities of daily living.

There are many advantages to living in an Assisted Living Home or Residential Care Home in the Dallas area.

  • A resident has the option of having a roommate or having their own room.
  • The cost per month for care is fixed which means that as the care level increases, families won’t have to spend more money.
  • The staff to resident ratio tends to be around 4 to 1 which is better than the staff to resident ratio at a typical Assisted Living facility.
  • A resident doesn’t have to worry about walking a far distance since they would now be living in a home. Living in a Dallas Assisted Living Facility or Skilled Nursing community would require the resident to walk a lot more and would be a big deal if they had a mobility issue.
